Our teachers are trained, experienced and caring. They undergo a thorough training programme and a number of refresher training sessions to thoroughly understand and align their teaching methods to the CDS approach.
Safety is given the highest importance. CCTV cameras provide a high degree of security in the campus. There are a number of trained caretakers and supervisory staff who keep the surroundings hygienic and clean.
The CDS School library is a place for learning and thinking. It plays a key role in supporting and developing literacy and the enjoyment of reading. As Joy Cowley writes, 'A sanctuary, a mine of treasure, a house of maps to secret lives in secret worlds … – the library became my other home.'
There are several other Indoor and Outdoor Sports facilities offered at the CDS School including Chess, Karate, Table Tennis, Yoga, Football, Cricket. All of these have coaches and teachers, inhouse or visiting, dedicated to guiding the CDS School students in the sport.
Effective teaching and learning of Science involves a perpetual state of show and tell. It is also believed that laboratory teaching and experiments that are being conducted there help encourage deep understanding in children. Children are able to retain the knowledge for longer when they see the experiments being performed in front of their eyes.
Dance and music is extremely important for children’s self expression. Through dance, students learn teamwork, focus, and improvisational skills. Sense of success and achievement comes when medals are won at National and State Level. We are happy to provide the same for our students.
Skating is a fun sport which builds strength, improves balance, agility and coordination. Roller-skating is a great way to improve heart health, strengthen muscles, and burn calories. It works muscles in the legs, glutes, and core, burns about 600 calories an hour, and causes 50% less stress to the joints than running.
The Math lab is similar in use to the Science Labs but is used for explanation and experimentation of Mathematical concepts. Separately there are Computer labs for students to expose students to the world of Information Technology.
The CDS School is equipped with one of the best futsal grounds in Nagpur City. This facility increases gross motor skills in students. They get a real understanding of the sport. Children learn to sprint, control a fast moving ball and make accurate passes.
The basketball facility in the school helps develop team skills, cooperation, teamwork, camaraderie, and competitiveness. Basketball helps children develop balance and coordination. Improves endurance, stimulates their cardiovascular system, as well as bone and muscle development.
This new sports facility has been an instant hit with the students. Used during break time, it keeps the children active irrespective of their fitness level, they all want to have a go! Outdoor Gym equipment is helping to reduce levels of obesity and sedentary lifestyles of many of the students.
We have an Indoor Play Zone for the Kindergarteners. This is a safe zone with thick matting in which kids love to play. Play is essential to stimulate the growth of a variety of physical and cognitive skills.
